FAQ: Goalkeeper Jerseys for Women Print E-mail

Mia asked: I've been playing goalkeeper for only a year now, maybe two. Since I don't have the experience of other keepers, I was wondering what type of keeper jersey you would recommend. I have a jersey right now, but the current one is way too big on me, and the pads are in all the wrong places.
Without the pads helping the way they're supposed to help, it's basically pointless to wear the shirt at all.
I need all new gear, pants, jersey, gloves, and I have been able to find pants, and gloves, that I like.
Jerseys are a lot harder to find,
because I am looking for one that fits more like UnderArmor. I want a skintight jersey, but I want it to have the correct padding also.
I really just don't want a lot of extra room in the jersey, because I find it uncomfortable.
Any suggestions?

Mia,
Thanks you for submitting your question with Ask the Goalkeeper. I just spoke to my buddy Christian at www.keeperstop.com. He had a few recommendations. First of all, there are goalkeeper jerseys that are designed for women that are cut a bit differently. It is going to be difficult to find them online because they aren't a big seller so many online stores don't carry them. He mentioned Reusch makes a tight fitting goalkeeper jersey that you might be interested in. Adidas also makes a 3 quarter length jersey that is tighter fitting as well. www.keeperstop.com, like most online stores, doesn't care these type of jerseys on their site, but Christian will be able to order you whatever you need. His number is 860-904-9939. Give him a call and tell him that Chase Harrison from askthegoalkeep.com recommended you to give him a call. He will be able to discuss all of these options and get you into a jersey that will fit all of your needs. Hope that this helps you out. Let me know what you end up going with.

Thank you,
Chase Harrison
